Today, I read in the newspaper that a successful doctor's wife was reported to the police for allegedly hitting her nose. The wife's mother is confused and the doctor's mother said that her son may have looked at his wife's face, but she doesn't think he would do something like that. She is very upset about the situation.
Two hours ago, he made a joke about how you can't pretend to be doing something good to help with the coronavirus pandemic if you're really not doing anything at all (like trying to hide your butt with a thong swimsuit).
He is the first scientist that I have seen on TV since the start of this pandemic who is not just talking without any evidence to back it up. He said that we are in a strange situation where we are not taking the necessary precautions to protect ourselves, but we are pretending to do so. We are just staying put.
Today I wanted to tell my teacher a phrase that I really like which is "Don't be too humble and be willing to listen to advice from people who are not experts.
