When you shine a light on wood, it can sometimes give off a coral red color. When you see this color, it could be a sign of one of four skin conditions: tinea, intertrigo, seborrheic dermatitis, or inverse psoriasis.

This is a skin condition caused by a bacteria called corynebacterium minutissimum. It usually appears in the genital area and armpits and makes the skin look like it has been stained brown. The good news is that it can be treated with a type of antibiotic called erythromycin and the skin will go back to its normal color within a week.
