seven years war
The war between England and France caused both countries to use up a lot of their resources, which led to France losing most of its colonies to England. This war still affects the world today and has had two major impacts: the establishment of the United States and the French Revolution.
The most important outcome of these wars for Russia (Germany) was that Prussia went from being a small country with scattered lands to a large state in less than 20 years. Additionally, Germany gained an elite group of people who would provide them with military officers and political leaders for the next 200 years, despite the losses they suffered in the wars.
Even though the borders in Europe stayed the same after this war, there were some changes in the colonies. In reality, France had to give up a big chunk of its colonies (including Canada, Louisiana, India, and the Caribbean) to England at the end of the war.
