In the 10th century, Ferdowsi wrote the language of the Qur'an in Iran. At this time, Iran was being invaded by Arabic and was in danger of forgetting its own national works. To prevent this, Ferdowsi tried to use as few Arabic words as possible while writing this work. It is also an epic poem that is set in the geography and climate of a plateau.
