It is very unlikely that someone could understand mathematics without studying it. It is like expecting an engineer to know that a randomly chosen picture is of a cat without even opening it.

This is the first lesson about clusters. I'm sad because my visa didn't work out, but I'm looking at the groups of code I wrote.

At dinner with a friend who studies topology, I asked for an example of topology in the room. My friend said that the water cup and a donut are essentially the same thing. They explained that you can stretch the cup in a certain plane, shape it and turn it into a donut. After giving some other examples, I asked what I would say if my mother asked me what topology is. My friend said that the simplest answer would be hemitzer.
