I recently exchanged 1 Turkish Lira for 2 Polish Zlotys. Now, 1 Turkish Lira is only worth 1.2 Polish Zlotys. If the exchange rate continues to decrease, it will be equal in 6 months. It is hard to understand why the Turkish Lira has become so weak compared to the Polish Zloty.

zloty

In 2010, two Polish Zlotys were equal to one Turkish Lira. Now, one Zloty is equal to 1.28 Turkish Liras. My friends from Poland and I have started a project together that will soon be worth more than the Zloty and Turkish Lira. This means that a vacation in Poland will become more affordable.

zloty

Last September, I started working for minimum wage in Poland, which was 1.42 zloty. I had to get a job to pay for my Master's degree and save 20 thousand Turkish Lira. I had planned to get 14 thousand zlotys from 20 thousand Turkish Lira, but now the zloty has increased to 1.78. Now, I only get 11 thousand zlotys, which is very disappointing.

zloty

The Polish currency is spelled like "zloty", but there is a scratch in the middle of the "l" so it is not pronounced like the English "l" sound, but like the "w" sound. When the "y" at the end is read like the "sh" sound in "local", the currency is pronounced roughly like "zvotsh". (Sometimes it is written as "groszy" and is pronounced "groshi".) If you can pronounce this correctly, it will make your Polish friends very happy. It is a difficult language to pronounce.

zloty

On the day, 1 lira was almost equal to 0.55 gross. It's incredible to think about how far we have come.

8

zloty

ZL stands for "zero-length", which means having no length or size.

9

zloty

Life in Poland used to be very cheap, but now it costs twice as much as it did three years ago. It used to be possible to buy a beer from Biedronka for only 2 liras, but now it costs 4 liras.
