the film made me question why there is a monastery at the bottom of a village in algeria (it seems) that is entirely muslim.
although it is a western production, i find its position less orientalist and racist than i expected, but when compared with other films that won the cannes grand prize in the past, i think it is insufficient for this award.
it is a french film that was distributed by tiglon film in 2011.
